EPA OFFICE OF POLLUTION PREVENTION AND TOXICS RELEASES ANNUAL REPORT

EPA's Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT) has released its first annual report. The report describes OPPT fiscal year 1995 initiatives to advance pollution prevention; reduce risk by promoting safer chemicals, processes and technologies; and promote public understanding of the environment by providing communities with environmental data and information. OPPT implements numerous statutes, including the Toxics Substances Control Act, sections 313 and 322 of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, the Pollution Prevention Act and the Residential Lead-Based Paint Hazard Reduction Act.
