‘Pollution Diet” Meetings Set for Pennsylvania

PHILADELPHIA (October 14, 2010) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will hold four public meetings in Pennsylvania next week to discuss the Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) – a strict “pollution diet” to restore local waters and the Chesapeake Bay.
EPA released the draft Bay TMDL on Sept. 24 and is holding public meetings throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed during a public comment period that ends Nov. 8.
The public meetings will be held in Lancaster, State College, Williamsport and Ashley, Pa. The meeting in Williamsport will be broadcast live on-line via webinar.
The meetings are:
- · Oct. 18, 2-4 p.m., Best Western Eden Resort, 222 Eden Road, Lancaster
· Oct. 19, 2-4 p.m., Knights of Columbus, 850 Stratford Drive, State College
· Oct. 20, 2-4 p.m., Lycoming College, Wendle Hall, 700 College Place, Williamsport (Also broadcast live online as webinar)
· Oct. 21, 2-4 p.m., Bentley’s, 2300 Route 309, Ashley
