U.S. EPA PRESENTING MCFARLAND AIR SAMPLING PLAN

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will hold a press availability during the community open house where officials will answer questions about the draft outdoor air sampling plan and the final soil investigation results on Thursday, March 29, in McFarland, Calif.
The outdoor air sampling is the third investigation looking at the current environmental conditions in McFarland. The air sampling plan is currently open to public comment until April 10, 2001. The public is encouraged to come to the open house, ask questions and provide input.
Also presented at the open house will be the final soil results from the follow-up sampling conducted last fall. Results confirmed most substances were below the EPA's screening levels and all substances found were at levels that do not pose significant health risks.
