CHICAGO (July 19, 2005) — U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 5's Air Programs Branch Chief Jay Bortzer will speak on EPA's diesel focus at the "Forward Wisconsin: Reducing Emissions For the Long Haul" workshop in Oak Creek, Wis. The workshop will focus on technologies to reduce diesel emissions from trucks and other diesel-powered vehicles. Trucks and buses with diesel retrofit and idle-reduction technologies will be on display.
WHO: Bortzer, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Air Management Bureau Director Lloyd Eagan, Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services Research Scientist Dr. Mark Werner and other government officials, and diesel industry officials.
WHEN: The Wednesday, July 20, workshop begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m.
WHERE: Milwaukee Area Technical College South Campus, Oak Creek, Wis.
Workshop sponsors are Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, U.S. Department of Energy, Wisconsin Clean Cities --- Southeast Area and EPA Region 5's Midwest Clean Diesel Initiative.
