Administrator Christine Whitman Highlights EPA Support of Nation's Small Businesses

(03/12/03) EPA Administrator Christie Whitman will open the first "National Summit on Small Business and the Environment" with a keynote address on Thursday, March 13 at the Loews L’Enfant Plaza Hotel in Washington, DC. The Summit will be the culminating event for EPA-designated Small Business month. The event brings together the nation's key small business influencers, including EPA guest Small Business Administrator Hector Barreto, who will stress the significance of partnerships. EPA Small Business Ombudsman and Director Karen Brown, and Director of National Center for Environmental Innovation Jay Benforado, will showcase EPA's support of small business through environmental policies, initiatives and compliance efforts. There will be a Memorandum of Agreement signing with the National Park Service prior to the keynote address.
