EPA Region 7 Invites Job Applicants to March 18 Career Expo

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Kansas City, Kan., March 4, 2009) - College graduates, as well as college seniors and graduate students who will earn their degrees by December 2009, are invited to learn more about employment opportunities with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by attending an upcoming Career Expo sponsored by EPA Region 7.

The Career Expo will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, at the EPA Region 7 Headquarters, 901 N. 5th Street, Kansas City, Kan. Free parking will be available on a surface lot at the corner of 4th Street and Minnesota Avenue, adjacent to the Region 7 Headquarters.

Interested applicants must bring photo identification for admission. Applications will not be accepted at the Career Expo. Interested applicants will have the opportunity to submit their applications through the usajobs.gov Web site during the weeks immediately following the Career Expo, March 23 – April 6, 2009.

The EPA is a federal agency whose mission is to protect human health and the environment. Nationwide, EPA employs approximately 17,000 people, including on-scene coordinators, environmental protection specialists, engineers, scientists, policy analysts, and financial and information management specialists.
