EPA to host Girl Scouts Environmental Awareness Day

On Saturday, October 18, 2003, in support of the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) commitment to Children's Health, EPA Region 4, in collaboration with the Girl Scouts Council of Northwest Georgia will host Environmental Awareness Day. The scouts will spend the day in a series of interaction session conducted by over 50 volunteers from the Environmental Protection Agency, Lowe's, Keep Georgia Beautiful, and the Emory School of Medicine Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Unit. The volunteers will help the scouts earn their Environmental Health and Eco-Action Badges, by conducting a series of stations that range from water pollution testing, recycling, pollution prevention, air pollution from vehicles testing, asthma screenings, lead awareness, women environmental champions, energy and more.
