Register for EPA’s Chemical Data Reporting Tool Webinar
Released January 2, 2024
Join the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on January 18, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm EST for an informational webinar to preview the 2024 Chemical Data Reporting (CDR) tool and learn how to sign up for and participate in the testing period before the tool is formally launched.
The CDR regulation requires manufacturers (including importers) of chemicals listed on the Toxic Substances Control Act Inventory that meet specific production volume thresholds, generally 25,000 pounds or more at any single site, to report information on the manufacture (including import), processing, and use of those chemicals. Information reported in 2024 will cover activities from 2020 to 2023, with a submission period of June 1 - September 30, 2024.
The 2024 reporting tool is an updated version of the 2020 reporting tool that addresses the issues data reporters experienced with the previous version. This webinar is intended for people interested in learning about how to participate in the testing period for the 2024 CDR tool that is planned for January 29 - February 9, 2024. Pre-registration for the testing period is required and participation is limited to 30 test accounts.
Feedback from this testing period will help inform EPA about additional changes to improve the tool’s functionality, provide understandable onscreen guidance, and address any concerns involving the tool that participants identify. These contributions will help EPA update the tool to provide a smooth reporting experience for entities regulated by CDR.
EPA uses CDR data to support risk screening, risk assessment, chemical prioritization, risk evaluation, and risk management activities, among other activities. This information allows EPA to develop an understanding of the types, amount, end uses, and possible exposure to chemicals in commerce.
