EPA Headquarters staff will provide an overview of EPA’s effluent guideline planning process as well as the contents of Effluent Guideline Plan 15, including updates on EPA’s reviews of industrial wastewater discharges and treatment technologies, EPA’s 2021 annual review of effluent guidelines and pre-treatment standards, and EPA’s continued focus in evaluating the extent and nature of per- and polyfluoroalkyl sub-stances (PFAS) discharges and assess opportunities for limiting those discharges from multiple industrial categories, as outlined in EPA’s 2021 PFAS Strategic Roadmap.

- Doruntinë Rexhepi is an Environmental Engineer with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C. where she works on technology-based industrial wastewater regulations known as effluent guidelines and pretreatment standards. She is the lead for effluent guidelines planning process in which EPA screens discharge and wastewater treatment technology data to prioritize industrial categories for further review. She has experience working across different industries to collect information and data on the use, discharge and treatment of PFAS in wastewater. She holds a master’s degree in environmental science and a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from the City University of New York.
