Cleanup Status
Note: The EPA is the lead agency for managing cleanups at this facility.
The facility has had several remediation actions to date. The most recent was the approval from Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) of the Act 2 Final report. During the Act 2 contaminated soil was removed, groundwater monitoring conducted and there was remediation in 2002.
The facility have completed the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) corrective action requirements and a Statement of Basis has been completed and a public notice has been issued by the EPA. The Corrective Action Final Remedy, issued on May 13, 2014, requires compliance with an Institutional Control Covenant that restricts the Facility property used for residential purposes and from using groundwater for any purpose.
Cleanup Actions or environmental indicators characterizing the entire facility are shown below. It is not intended as an extensive list of milestones/activities. This listing, and all the data on this page, come from EPA’s RCRAInfo and are refreshed nightly to this page. For this table and the Cleanup Activities Pertaining to a Portion of the Facility table that follows, a blank in the Status column could mean the action either has not occurred or has not been reported in RCRAInfo.

Arsenic concentrations remaining in Facility soils meet Non-Residential MSCs, however, some contaminants remain in concentrations above their applicable Residential medium-specific concentrations (MSCs). Therefore, EPA's Corrective Action Objective for Facility soils is to control exposure to the hazardous constituents remaining in soils.
Institutional and Engineering Controls at this Facility
Institutional Controls restricts the Facility property used for residential purposes and from using groundwater for any purpose.
Institutional and Engineering Controls help ensure human exposure and groundwater migration are under control at a cleanup facility. Where control types have been reported by states and EPA in EPA’s RCRAInfo, they are shown below. Not all control types are needed at all facilities, and some facilities do not require any controls. Where there are blanks, the control types may not be needed, may not be in place, or may not be reported in RCRAInfo.
