The facility have completed the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) corrective action requirements and a Statement of Basis has been completed and a public notice has been issued by EPA. On May 6, 2014, the EPA has determined, based on available information, that there are no unaddressed releases of hazardous waste or hazardous constituents from the facility. Therefore, no further investigation or remediation is required.

Safety Kleen Facility is located on 1.6 acres of land in Kuhnsville, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. The site was privately owned from 1887-1974. The Lehigh County Industrial Development Association (LCIDA) purchased the property in 1974. The buildings on site was constructed in 1978. From March 1979 to December 1983 Safety Kleen leased the site from LCIDA. Safety Kleen purchased in from LCIDA. Safety Kleen operated at the facility through August 2003 when they stopped accepting Waste. Safety Kleen submitted their 1st notification of Hazardous Waste Activity on August 12, 1980, as a transportation and treatment, storage, disposal (TSD) (F002 and F004), Amended in 1983 (removed TSD), Amended in 1985 (added generator and TSD). In 1980 facility was expanded. In October 1986 the notice of land Disposal Restriction of waste for the immersion cleaner was submitted. In 2003 to 2004 Safety Kleen began cleaning and closure of the site. In the 2005, the Closure Certification for Safety-Kleen was signed. Safety Kleen sold the property in January 2006. The current owner is T and D Real Estate Investments, LLC.
