Hazardous Waste Generator Regulations Crosswalk
This document identifies the changes that were made to the regulatory citations as finalized in the 2016 Hazardous Waste Generator Improvements Rule. One of the goals of this rule was to reorganize the regulations to make them more user friendly and straightforward. Many of the regulations that apply to hazardous waste generators were either reorganized within title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) part 262 or were copied into part 262 from other parts of the regulations.
To make it easier for users to determine how the new citations correspond to the old ones, EPA published several tables in the preamble to the final rule that detail the old citations and their corresponding new locations in the regulations. We refer to these tables as crosswalks. EPA has compiled them into a single reference document and made them available here. Also included in the crosswalks is a “Comments” column that contains additional information describing, for example, the nature of the change or if it is a new citation.
