Selected Application Summary
The selected application will support the decarbonization of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s vehicle fleet to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and improve air quality across four Seminole reservations. The selected application will replace gasoline and diesel vehicles with hybrid electric vehicles (EV) and install charging infrastructure at properties owned by the Tribe. The Tribe’s Development Program will be used to train Tribal members to assist with project activities and meet the demand of the job opportunities created by the project activities.
Key Things to Know
Based on information provided by the applicant, the selected project will deliver the following benefits to reduce GHGs and support communities 1:
- Replace 16 internal combustion engine vehicles in the existing Seminole Tribe fleet with hybrid EVs.
- Add 1 plug-in hybrid vehicle to the Seminole Tribe fleet.
- Construct 20 EV chargers at buildings owned by the Tribe.
- Engage Tribal members in project activities and provide them with knowledge about GHG reduction measures, benefits of EVs, and setup and use of EV chargers.

EPA will award grants to selected applicants once they meet all legal and administrative requirements. As of August 2024, grants are expected to be awarded by the end of 2024.
