Multipollutant Modeling Applications
2002 Multipollutant Modeling Platform (PDF)(69 pp, 3 MB, 09-19-2007) - The National Academy of Sciences report and the Clean Air Act Advisory Committee’s recommendations indicate that an integrated, multi-pollutant framework for air quality management (AQM) would maximize health and environmental benefits through comprehensive emission reduction control strategies. The OAQPS Air Quality Assessment Division has completed development and evaluation of a 2002 multi-pollutant modeling platform that can serve to provide critical information to support these types of environmental decisions and begin to refocus our current AQM system. This seminar will introduce attendees to air quality modeling and its use in our current AQM system and provide examples of the potential uses of our new multi-pollutant modeling platform. A full report detailing this platform will be released in the late Spring 2008.
Detroit Multipollutant Pilot Project (PDF)(62 pp, 1 MB, 01-16-2008) - This project is part of the technical component of the Air Quality Management Plan (AQMP) Pilot Project and will be used to inform the state and local agencies about the technical tools/methods/databases available for regulatory and policy development and to demonstrate their application by using Detroit as a testbed. A presentation summarizing the final results, Detroit Multi-pollutant Pilot Project: Summary Results (PDF)(33 pp, 6 MB, 07-09-2009) is available.
