Using Renewable Energy Certificates to Achieve Local Environmental Goals
This one-hour webinar introduced renewable energy certificates (RECs), reviewed different types of RECs and how they work, and discussed methods for promoting or adopting RECs at the local level. Representatives from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) featured a new primer, Using Renewable Energy Certificates to Achieve Local Environmental Goals. The primer is the latest addition to the series, Clean Energy Financing Tools and Resources for Local Governments. EPA representatives also highlighted how governments can get involved in EPA's Green Power Partnership. The Director of Energy and Sustainability from Greenfield, MA described their experiences utilizing RECs. The presentations were followed by a question and answer session
