Final Amendments: Clay Ceramics Manufacturing NESHAP
The Clay Ceramics Manufacturing National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) includes provisions for two distinct subcategories: ceramic tile (e.g., pressed floor tile, pressed wall tile and other pressed tile) and sanitaryware (e.g., sinks and toilets). Acid gases, particulate matter (as a surrogate for non-mercury HAP metals) and mercury emissions are regulated from this source category. EPA is finalizing amendments to the Clay Ceramics Manufacturing NESHAP in response to Kohler Company’s December 2015 petition for reconsideration. These amendments will provide some flexibility to industry without any change to the emission standards.
