Background
The Admiral Home Appliances (AHA) Superfund Alternative Approach Site is located in Barnwell County, South Carolina, southeast of the Town of Williston on County Road 65. From 1966 to 1989, the Admiral Home Appliances (AHA) facility manufactured refrigerators and freezers on site under a series of owners. In 1989, Dixie-Narco purchased the facility property and began manufacturing vending machines. Dixie-Narco, now known as Crane, continues to manufacture vending machines at the facility.
