How's My Waterway January 2022 Webcast
January 20, 2022
How’s My Waterway has added several new features over the past year that will be featured in this webcast. Communities use How’s My Waterway to learn about their watershed. When a watershed is shown to have pollution or other issues, it inspires people to get involved to protect and restore their waterways. By displaying all the information visually, it gives this data more perspective and transparency which results in the drive for change and innovation.
How’s My Waterway answers questions about the health of waters in supporting swimming, the eating of fish, drinking water protection and delivery, the health of aquatic communities, and the restoration and protection of waterways. The public has access to water information in their community, state and at a national level.
Several recent enhancements to How’s My Waterway will be featured, including:
- Enhanced map features include: Environmental justice screening layers, the ability to view your upstream watershed, waters with restoration and protection plans viewable on the map, an add data button to pull in any public available datasets, and the ability to view waters outside of the designated watershed outlined on the map.
- New Community Level features include: A redesigned overview tab including current water conditions from USGS sensors, watershed health scores, wild and scenic rivers, US Protected Areas, EPA approved protection plans, and Tribal water assessments.
