EPA Self-Audit Agreement with State of Wyoming
On October 26, 2018, the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality and the United States Environmental Protection Agency entered into a Memorandum of Agreement to establish procedures and policies for administration of the Wyoming Audit Privilege and Immunity Law. Under this agreement, EPA recognizes that Wyoming’s self-audit law and policy encourages greater compliance with laws and rules protecting public health and the environment. The purpose of the MOA is to encourage the use of Wyoming’s environmental self-audit law and to define the role of the State and the Environmental Protection Agency. This agreement accomplishes that goal by providing certainty and clarity to the State and the regulated community on EPA’s position regarding Wyoming’s self-audit law.
