State, Territorial and Tribal Fish Consumption Advisories
Search for Current Fish Advisories
States, territories and tribes have the primary responsibility for issuing fish consumption advisories. They issue fish consumption advisories to protect people from the risks of eating contaminated fish caught in local waters. A consumption advisory may recommend limiting the amount or avoiding eating certain fish from specific waters or from specific water types (e.g., lakes, rivers) due to contamination. States, territories and tribes may issue an advisory for everyone or for groups like pregnant women, nursing mothers, and children. For current advisories issued by states, territories or tribes visit each state, territory or tribe’s fish advisory website at List of State, Territory and Tribe Fish Advisory Contacts.
