2010 Sulfur Dioxide National Ambient Air Quality Standards Implementation Actions
Findings of Failure to Submit State Implementation Plans Required for Attainment of the 2010 1-Hour Primary Sulfur Dioxide National Ambient Air Quality Standard
July 31, 2024 - As required by the Clean Air Act, EPA finds that four states failed to submit complete State Implementation Plan (SIP) submissions for areas designated nonattainment for the 2010 1-hour primary National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) for sulfur dioxide (SO2). These submissions, known as attainment plans, should outline the actions an area will take to improve air quality and meet the NAAQS. These findings apply to:
- St. Lawrence County, NY;
- Giles County, VA;
- St. Bernard Parish, LA;
- Miami, AZ.
