AQS User Registration
AQS registration is only open to employees of State, Tribal, Local, and federal agencies (and their agents/contractors).
You must have an account to access AQS. Users responsible for inserting, updating, and deleting data in AQS must request those specific rights in the AQS User Registration form. Those wishing to view and retrieve data directly from the AQS database must also register as “read only” users.
If you need only publicly available data, see Obtaining AQS Data .
Privacy Statement:
When you register for an AQS account you will be prompted for your Name, Business Phone, and Business Email Address. The EPA will only use the information for the purposes of notifying you about the status of your data submissions to and retrievals from AQS, and for contacting you in the event of an AQS outage, or if there is a problem with your account. AQS provides a form to allow you to review and correct this information at any time. EPA will not make the information available for other purposes unless required by law. The EPA does not sell or otherwise transfer personal information to an outside third party. While enhanced security controls are in place to prevent unauthorized access to this information, there is always a risk AQS could be breached. By registering for an AQS account, and its continued use, you agree to accept these risks.
Steps to register:
- Registrants: Complete the User Section of the AQS User Registration. (Registrants may also complete fields in other sections if those values are known.) The form must be printed and signed or digitally signed at the User Signature before sending it to the next contact.
- Registrants: Read the AQS User Security Guidelines. Print and sign or digitally sign the signature page included in that document.
- Registrants: Email both pages (the completed registration form and the Security signature page) to the recognized AQS contact within the user's agency.
- Agency AQS Contact: Complete the Agency Section, sign and date the form then email both sheets to the AQS support team.
- AQS Staff: Will contact the EPA Regional AQS Contact to validate and process the request. If the AQS contact for the user is the EPA Regional AQS Contact then AQS Staff will proceed with the request.
- Registrants: Register with the EPA Gateway to request access to the AQS system. Some users may need to register with Login.gov to gain access to the EPA Gateway. For more information on the registration process for the Gateway as well as how this is integrated with logging into AQS please see AQS Gateway Access. Please see the EPA Regional Representative list to determine which contact to use for your sponsor when registering with the EPA Gateway.
