GenRA Resource Hub
Read-across is a commonly used data gap filling technique whereby endpoint information for one substance (the source substance) is used to predict the same endpoint for another substance (the target substance) which is considered to be ‘similar’ in some way, usually on the basis of structural similarity. The traditional read-across approach is expert driven and not necessarily reproducible. GenRA is an algorithmic automated approach to make reproducible read-across predictions of toxicity.
The current version encodes structural and bioactivity information. GenRA is continually evolving to encode other similarity contexts to reflect the expert considerations typically used in a read-across assessment. While GenRA is still underpinned by the same data streams as those available in the CompTox Chemicals Dashboard, it is now available as a separate web application. This allows new features and data to be added more frequently and lets user draw chemical structures that may not be in the dashboard to make predictions. Users can access GenRA from a separate landing page to make read-across predictions yet still take advantage of the myriad data within the Dashboard since the applications will remain linked.
